In this mosaic, Dionysus, the god of wine and nature of Anatolian origin, and Nike, the goddess of victory, are seen together; Dionysus is seen in a chariot driven by Nike and pulled by two panthers. In front of the panthers, a dancing bakkha can be seen. Dionysus is also the god of a religion named after him. Members of this religion go on a mysterious journey by drinking wine. The men who performed these ritual-like ceremonies for the purpose of transcending oneself and attaining secrets were called Satirus and women were called Bakkha.
