Gaziantep Zeugma Mosaic Museum<\/strong>Young volunteers who participate in the work carried out in , both learn museum management and gain experience in the historical atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 20 young university students, who are included in the "Young Volunteers Project" carried out in cooperation with the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and Youth and Sports, are participating in the work at the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, which hosts many unique works unearthed during the excavations in the Zeugma Ancient City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The participants, who meticulously carry out the recording, photographing and documentation stages of the works brought to the museum, accompanied by experts, are excited to participate in the works in the museum, which is considered one of the largest in the world and fascinates its visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gaziantep Museum Director \u00d6zg\u00fcr \u00c7omak told the AA reporter that they received many applications from people who want to volunteer at the Zeugma Mosaic Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stating that students from Turkey, Indonesia, Canada and the USA participated in the project, which started last year, \u00c7omak said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOur museum is of international importance. These friends of ours are passionate about museology and especially want to see the magnificent works in the Zeugma Mosaic Museum and work in this atmosphere. Volunteers also participate in excavation work. We aim to make them love museums, culture, art and tourism. They are trying to see museology. What is being done in the museum? They see that museums are not just places where visitors come. Different studies are carried out in museums. Its cultural and artistic aspects are developing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00c7omak stated that the participants were happy to take part in the activities at the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00c7omak explained that volunteer young people learn and apply the processes from bringing a work to the museum until its exhibition, and said, \u201cWe teach our friends about photography, inventory, bookkeeping, and our works in terminological and typological senses. Most of our friends are teacher candidates and will contribute to the education of future generations in terms of museums and history.\u201d said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the participants, Gaziantep University Child Development Department student Seda U\u011fur, stated that she likes to be interested in history and said, \u201cI like touching the works and being in touch with them. We record the works that come here and transfer them to the digital environment.
